Dylan Battye is a Grade 10 student at Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary who is in need of our community’s support.
Dylan is a strong, athletic young man in top shape. He is a member of our school’s football team, as well a member of the Canadian National Ball Hockey team which is travelling to the World Juniors in Czechoslovakia in June. Unfortunately, Dylan will not be able to join them.
Just over three months ago, Dylan contracted what his family and doctors originally felt was a bad cold. However, within a week, Dylan was put in a drug induced coma at Children’s Hospital on life support, with his doctors at a loss as to what sort of virus was attacking him.
Dylan is on his way to recovering, but due to complications from this illness, he has lost part of his leg and his dream of competing internationally has been shelved for the near future.
Our Cloverdale family – his friends, teachers, teammates and coaches, would like to support Dylan in his recovery and encourage him to pursue his dreams. We are fundraising to purchase an athletic prosthetic. Your company can assist us by providing a donation of goods / services for a silent auction at a fundraising evening at 6:00 pm, June 15, 2012 at the Thirsty Penguin Grillhouse, Langley Twin Rinks, 5700 Langley By-Pass.
All donations will be processed through Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary School. Cash donations can be made to the “Dylan Battye Trust Account” at any Envision Credit Union location.
This event is endorsed by the Lord Tweedsmuir Parent Advisory Committee. We thank you in advance for your support of the Battye family.
