Legion Provincial Golf Tournament

If you are a golfer the legion golf tournament is for you and we need your help by entering as a single or putting together a foursome.

The tournament this year will be held at two different golf courses: on July 23 we will be playing at Guildford Golf Course, and on July 24 at Fort Langley Golf Course.

The cost is $150.00 per person and again this year the price includes your golf cart at both golf courses, a wine and cheese welcome party, and a banquet dinner with lots of prizes.

This tournament is open to all Legion members and non-Legion Members as long as they are playing with a member that they know. There are also separate men's and ladies divisions.

We have only 80 spots available so please download an entry form and covering letter and send it in.

Looking forward in seeing you there.

TAPS Online

The current TAPS newsletter is available online. Just click on the 'TAPS' Newsletter link on the left, and it will take you to a page where you can download the file.

If you would prefer to have TAPS e-mailed to you, just send an e-mail to the Editor at patricksharkey@shaw.ca. We can remove you from our "snail mail" (Canada Post) mailing list and add you to our e-mail list instead. That way you get the TAPS sooner and we save on the cost of postage.

The New Model Branch

BC/Yukon Command recently received a letter signed by more than 60 veterans ranging in age from 22 to their 50's, thanking the Legion for their support, but suggesting changes that would make branches more appealing to younger veterans. This is a letter everyone who is concerned about the future of the Legion should read. The letter from the veterans and the cover letter from Command may be downloaded here.

Youth Remembrance Video Contest

Let’s have a major drum roll and grand applause for our 2013 winners of the BC/Yukon Youth Remembrance Video Contest!

Comrades, this competition just gets better and better each year. With 30 video entries, making the selection was not an easy task for the Youth Committee and our President. The diversity of talent and artistic expression add to the judging challenges, but these are good challenges to have.

View the winners on our Youtube Playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlqG2DVRYcTZdjGYwiNeNZYlhFEWbIsIA.

Military Service Recognition Books

Each year Provincial Command publishes a Military Service Recognition Book of Veteran’s histories and photos. Everyone is welcome to submit a history, including veterans, service personnel, relatives or friends. Send in your histories and stories early, we accept them year-round!

The Military Service Recognition Books are now available online - see www.legionbcyukon.ca/content/military-service-recognition-book.
