Redevelopment Plan Cancelled
At a general meeting on June 27, 2012, the membership passed the following resolution:
“That Branch 6 enter into an Exchange Agreement
with Townline Housing and the City of Surrey, where
our Branch would exchange our present location for
a 10,000 sq. ft. building with $1,000,000 of tennant
improvements and 1,800 sq. ft. of commercial retail space”.
At the general meeting on September 25, 2014, representatives of Townline Housing and the
City of Surrey Development Corporation informed the members that the agreement with the Legion
to include the Legion in the phase 1 development has been cancelled.
They may offer to include us in one of the next four development phases, which they expect will take place
over the next 7 1/2 to 10 years.

Time for Change
The Dominion Membership & Outreach Committee Chairmen have written a letter to all Legion members and Branch executives,
underscoring the need for change within our Branches… change to make every Legion Branch a welcoming, inclusive, vibrant cornerstone
of the community. Every member should read this letter.

Youth Remembrance Video Contest
Let’s have a major drum roll and grand applause for our 2013 winners of the BC/Yukon Youth Remembrance Video Contest!
Comrades, this competition just gets better and better each year.
With 30 video entries, making the selection was not an easy task for the Youth Committee and our President.
The diversity of talent and artistic expression add to the judging challenges, but these are good challenges to have.
